Professor Lauren Andres
Professor of Planning and Urban Transformations, University College London, The Bartlett School of Planning
Lauren Andres is Pro-Vice-Provost (Inequalities) for the UCL Grand Challenge. She holds a Chair in Planning and Urban Transformations at the Bartlett School of Planning, where she also serves as Director of Research.
Lauren’s work focuses on adaptable cities, with particular attention to the temporary and more permanent transformations experienced by cities, people, and places. She specialises in research on socio-economic and urban inequalities associated with crises and disruptions, examining how these challenge key priorities such as resilience, sustainability, and social justice, as well as shape policy-making and urban governance.
Recently, along with Professor Mike Raco, she has been examining the adoption of artificial intelligence in cities, specifically in the planning and real estate sectors, with a particular focus on the United Kingdom and China.
